In this week’s episode of Energetically You, I had the joy of chatting with Chef Nathalia. Chef Nathi Toro is a plant-based chef, educator and nutritionist focused on women’s health and helping humans have a healthy relationship with food.  After a cancer diagnosis at a young age she turned her health around by following her intuition and switching to a plant-based diet.  10 years later she is still cancer free.

I am a plant based chef, educator and nutritionist focused on women’s health and helping humans have a healthy relationship with food. I was born in Colombia and moved to America when I was 15. My dream to become a doctor changed when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and when I showed some signs of precancerous cells in my body. Since then I’ve gone through a lot of processes to understand my body and what the power of food has in our well-being. 

Since then I have adopted a plant based diet, was able to reduce inflammation in my body, cancer is gone and my autoimmune has resolved without the use of western medicine. 

Through my years of experience as an educator I have seen the need to get rid of the diet mentality and adopt a more holistic approach to food. I have been like many of us sucked into the societal standard and after many ups and downs I’ve come to discover the power of the mind when it comes to our food choices. I long to share that intuitive eating can be flexible, fun, exciting and above all freeing.
